He calls himself Kent, and he writes the New York Times bestselling Cork O’Connor mystery series, set in the great Northwoods of Minnesota. His work has received a number of honors, including the Edgar Award, Anthony Award, Barry Award, Macavity Award, Dilys Award, Minnesota Book Award, Loft-McKnight Fiction Award, and Friends of American Writers Prize. His 2013 novel Ordinary Grace has been chosen for One Book, One Community Read programs across the country. He makes his home in St. Paul, where he does all his writing in a couple of wonderfully funky coffee shops.
